How it all began
Back in 1995, a tight-knit group of friends embarked on their fishing adventures together. What began as casual gatherings in a garage evolved into the birth of Danglers Fishing Club. Meeting with a shared passion for angling, they aimed to create a space where like-minded enthusiasts could gather for friendly competitions and camaraderie. Thus, Danglers Fishing Club was born.
Our Purpose
The primary objective of the club is to provide a supportive environment where members can not only develop but also refine their angling skills. Whether they are beginners eager to learn the basics or seasoned anglers seeking to master advanced techniques, our club offers a platform for continual growth and improvement. Through organized events, workshops, and mentorship opportunities, members have access to resources and guidance to help them hone their techniques, understand different fishing strategies, and deepen their appreciation for the art of angling. Ultimately, our goal is to foster a community of passionate anglers who share knowledge, experiences, and camaraderie, while collectively striving towards excellence in the pursuit of their fishing endeavors.
What we do
we strive to build a community where members can continually develop and thrive in their shared passion for fishing.
- Dangler’s fishing Club has its meetings on the first Friday of every month at the Carrington Park Leasure Centre in Knoxfield
- Our competitions run for the whole year except January, which will be explained in detail in the events section
- Providing regular meetings, activities, and angling opportunities pursuant to attaining the above
- To promote the sport of fishing as a sustainable sporting activity
- Promote responsible angling practices such as “catch and release” and recognise “legal catch limits” and “minimum size requirements”
- Our meetings start in February and end in December being the final, and our presentation after that
- Providing a setting for interchange, in an atmosphere of fellowship and enjoyment, of angling and angling knowledge, skills and opportunities
- To promote fishing as an enjoyable healthy sport for people of all ages and ability levels in our community
- Encourage members to employ safe boating practices
- The club will be non- political, non-sectarian, non-profit, and financially competent, and will not indulge in fundraising for any reason than its above stated
